Tamil stars Dhanush-Hansika Motwani starrer Mappillai(2011) is a remake of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s yesteryear blockbuster with the same title, has wrapped up its final schedule recently.Mappillai is directed by Sooraj, who earlier made Dhanush’s Padikadhavan. Mappillai will have the same team of technicians as Padikadhavan working together. Mani Sharma scores music while Nirav Shah cranks the camera. Shiyaji Shinde is the villain. The film also marks the Kollywood comeback of Manisha Koirala, who will play the role of Dhanush’s mother-in-law.

Dhanush starrer Maapillai is all set to grace the silver screens on April 8th, 2011. The film makers have planned accordingly as the collections doesn’t get affected by the world cup season. After seeing in a pucca mass role in critically acclaimed film Aadukalam, Dhanush is coming in a commercial role in Mappillai. The film is the remake of Rajini’s blockbuster film Mappillai, which was released in 1989. Hansika Motwani is playing the female lead in the film while Manisha Koirala will be seen the role of dominating mother-in-law, which is outstandingly played by yester years actress Srividhya. Suraj of Padikathavan fame has directed the film. Mappillai will be the first film to release after the world cup season.
